Job Description

Have you ever played a game and been frustrated by poor or incomplete translation, supposed jokes, cultural references that were out of place? Well this is your chance
to a made real difference in making games more suitable for their target audiences. We want you to bring your passion for both games and language. Localisation testing
involves performing language checks on a range of games for a variety of platforms including PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Wii U, PS Vita, DS and various mobile devices.

Main Duties

      • Identifying spelling, grammar, punctuation and other language errors

      • Ensuring console manufacturer guidelines are adhered to in game test

      • Logging details of errors/issues found and providing suggestions for improvements

      • Ad hoc translation

Person Specification

      • Native level fluency in French, Italian, German or Spanish

      • Strong English language skills

      • Strong cultural understanding of English and the language you are applying for Enthusiastic gamer – experience of at least one current platform

      • Great team worker

      • Excellent attention to detail

      • Previous experience, particularly in console submission processes will be a distinct advantage but isn’t essential

Contract Details

      • As we operate on a project by project basis, this role is offered on a casual basis

      • Up to 40 hours per week, mainly Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm but flexibility is required

      • Overtime pay at time and a half

      • Pro-rated holidays

Functionality Testers

Main Duties

      • Performing manual functionality and certification testing on console, PC and mobile games

      • Reporting defects and providing feedback to enhance client and game experience

      • Compliance testing

      • Authoring/reviewing test plans

Qulaifications

      • Educated to Higher Grade/A Level standard or equivalent

      • A game design/development or related degree would be an advantage

Person Specification

      • Extensive gaming experience on one or more platform

      • Experience of playing and/or testing MMOs would be preferable

      • Knowledge of FPS games

      • Previous testing experience or knowledge of console submission processes would be a distinct advantage

      • High level of written and spoken English

      • Interest and understanding of games industry

      • The ability to communicate complex information in a concise manner

      • Precise attention to detail

      • Flexibility, as overtime and weekend work is a possibility

      • Team working skills

      • High level of IT literacy

Contract Details

      • This position is offered on a rolling monthly contract basis to meet client requirements

      • The main working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00

      • Overtime pay at time and a half
